SRF Fertility 2026 Bursary for Local Students

SRF Satellite Day local Student Bursary – FERTILITY 2026 

Fertility 2026, the joint annual conference of ARCS, BFS and the SRF is the main scientific conference in the SRF’s annual calendar of events.  In 2026 the conference will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland from Wednesday 7 to Saturday 10 January 2026. The SRF Satellite Day will be held on Wednesday 7 January.

The SRF Council is continuing to support the conference and keen to encourage local students studying Reproductive Biology to attend Fertility 2026, they have agreed to ring fence a set amount £2,000 of the Fertility budget to support local undergraduate and Masters students to attend the SRF Satellite Day, Fertility 2026.

This bursary award is not guaranteed and will be offered in order of applications received – providing all eligibility criteria are met at the time of application. We therefore advise students to apply as soon as possible.

This Bursary is for registration only

This SRF Bursary will cover the SRF Satellite Day, Early Bird registration only. No further support is available.

Registration and payment will be made by the SRF, applicants must not register directly.

Bursary Criteria

Due to the above budget this support is not guaranteed and will be offered in order of applications received and criteria being met.  Please read carefully before applying, if any criteria are not met the application will be rejected.

  • Priority will be given those applicants who have an accepted abstract for Fertility 2026.
  • Are enrolled in a BSc or Masters degree course, or in the First Year of a PhD programme in a discipline related to the mission of the SRF – applicants will be asked to upload their university offer letter/confirmation letter
  • Applicants will be required to apply for SRF Student membership via the SRF website, this must be received by 30 September, any offers will be made on condition of SRF membership payment.
  • Further information/evidence may be requested to support bursary claims as appropriate.
  • Bursaries will be offered in order of applications received – providing all eligibility criteria are met at the time of application.
  • A fully refundable deposit of £50 will be requested, this will be refunded on receipt of the report and other terms listed below.

Terms of the Local Bursary

On confirming bursary acceptance, recipients are agreeing to the follow terms.

 Report & Engagement

  • Write a report to be uploaded onto the SRF website about their experience – a template will be provided.
  • Engage and attend the whole SRF Satelitte day
  • Confirm their attendance during the day
  • Recipients are encouraged to post their experience on social media and tag SRF

 Terms of the Offer

  • Membership payment, as indicated above, must have be paid
  • The bursary award is not guaranteed, and bursaries will be offered in order of applications received and providing all criteria met at the time of application.
  • The scheme will close when the budget has been reached or on the advertised deadline, no applications received after the deadline will be processed.
  • When applying you must confirm that you have applied to become a member and will pay for membership as requested.
  • The Fertility Registration Terms and Conditions apply to SRF bursary recipients.  All cancellations must be in writing to srf@conferencecollective.co.uk.

    If a member cancels their bursary offer before 31 October 2025, they will be invoiced for a 12% administration fee.

    If a member cancels their bursary offer before 8 December 2025, they will be invoiced for 50% of the registration cost.

    If a member cancels their bursary offer from 9 December 2025, they will be invoiced for 100% of the registration cost.

    • If an applicant fails to attend, they will reimburse to the SRF all bursary expenses that the Society has paid on their behalf.  All successful applicants are asked to go to the SRF stand to confirm their attendance.

    Bursary Timeline

    Wednesday 1 October 2025: SRF Fertility bursary closes 5pm GMT, please note that late applications will NOT be accepted.

    Friday 10 October 2025:  SRF Bursary applicants will be notified by the SRF Secretariat (The Conference Collective) of the outcome of their bursary application.

    Monday 27 October 2025: SRF Bursary applicants must confirm by this date, failure to do so will result in the offer being withdrawn.
