SRF Stewart Rhind Communication Award
The SRF Stewart Rhind Communication award is a prestigious prize awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students for outstanding scientific communication on a topic relevant to reproduction and fertility. This prize was named in honour of Dr Stewart Rhind, who was tragically killed in a car accident in March 2013. Stewart’s specialism was mammalian reproduction and his work on the effects of nutrition and environmental contaminants on animal and human reproductive health was internationally recognised.
Stewart Rhind Communication Award
This award was previously the Essay prize and had been updated to encourage Early Career scientists to help raise awareness in reproductive science-related topic by encouraging the use of all media communication platforms – previously this award was restricted to an essay submission.
Scientific communication is a variety of practices that transmit scientific ideas, methods, knowledge, and research to non-expert audiences in an accessible, educational, and useful way. Communicating in this way is a necessary skill for all researchers and we invite both undergraduates and postgraduate students to submit a creative communication on any aspect of reproductive biology.
