Reproduction in Domestic Ruminants VIII
The SRF are pleased to have supported a number of smaller meetings, the proceedings were published as supplements to the JRF, again, through SRF support, these have now been digitised, and are now available on the Bioscientifica Proceedings website.

International Ruminant Reproduction Symposium
A group of international researchers initiated the first symposium in Australia in 1980. This meeting was so successful that a subsequent meeting was held in the USA four years later. It was decided that the International Ruminant Reproduction Symposium (IRRS) should be held at regular intervals around the world to ensure international representation, as outlined in the overview editorial (see Webb) and published along with the first symposium (dated 1980; J. Reprod. Fert. Suppl. 30, 1981). The tenth IRRS was held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil (Anim Reprod 15 Issue Suppl. 1, 2018) and the eleventh symposium was held in Galway, Ireland (Sci Dir, Anim Sci Proc, 14, 431-548, 2023). The twelfth symposium will be held in Canada in 2027.
These Proceedings contain state-of-the-art scientific information at the time of publication and provide an invaluable open-access source of both historic and more recent research and development information for researchers, lecturers and students. Importantly, it must be acknowledged that initially SSF and subsequently SRF have provided significant financial support for each of the 11 IRRS meetings, both as a charitable donation to each Symposium and/or as travel grants to attendees, particularly students.
