EC Associate Editor Opportunity

Join the Editorial Board as an

EARLY CAREER ASSOCIATE EDITOR

The Editorial Board of Reproduction & Fertility (RAF) are looking for people to join the Board as Early Career Associate Editors (ECAE) for a year.  This position is suitable both for basic, non-clinical scientists and also for clinicians-in-training or embryologists working in the area of clinical reproduction and fertility. The ECAE role provides an opportunity for early career researchers to get some experience in being an associate editor on a journal, with the possibility of becoming a full Associate Editor at the end of the year.

EARLY CAREER ASSOCIATE EDITORS WILL:

  • Participate whenever possible in monthly editor-in-chief meetings, allowing them to develop an understanding of how a journal is run. These are held remotely, most often on Wednesdays at 16.00 GMT; applicants should ensure that this is, in general, a feasible time for them to join meetings.
  • Work with an Associate Editor, watching how they deal with the manuscript, and gaining expertise in the day-to-day Associate Editor work.
  • Help RAF’s Journal Club Editor hold occasional journal clubs (run on Twitter, likely two-three across the year).

HOW TO APPLY:

Anyone interested in applying to be an Early Career Associate Editor at RAF is invited to email Jennifer Stinson
Jennifer.Stinson@bioscientifica.com at Bioscientifica. Applications should be submitted in the form of a single pdf document, maximum 3 pages: this should consist of a letter explaining your interest in the role (maximum one side A4) and a short CV (maximum 2 sides of A4).  Applications should be received by 19th August 2024.
