To recognise the contribution of the Society’s younger members,
the Walpole Lecturer was selected from candidates, usually under the
age of 35, who put forward their abstracts submitted for the Annual Conference.
Walpole Lecturers received a prize, generously bequested to the Society
by colleagues of Professor Arthur Walpole at ICI to recognise his contribution
