The society offers an award for its postgraduate student members (SRF student prize). To be considered for the award, students must submit an abstract to be presented at the annual conference. Submitted abstracts are reviewed by an independent panel and a maximum of six abstracts are then short listed for the prize. The short listed students present their work in an oral session during the conference (SRF student prize session). The prize is awarded based on a combination of criteria which include content, presentation, delivery and discussion of the work. The award value of this prize is £250.
Students who qualify for this prize should tick the relevant box when submitting their abstract to the annual SRF conference via the online Abstract Submission Form.
In 2010, the SRF Student Prize was awarded jointly to Victoria Tyndall (MRC Human Reproductive Sciences Unit, Edinburgh) for her presentation entitled “Neonatal exposure to aromatisable androgen or estrogen produces a reproductive and metabolic PCOS phenotype in the rat’ and to Jackie Maybin (University of Edinburgh) for her presentation on ‘The expression and regulation of endometrial adrenomedullin (ADM): a novel candidate for post-menstrual replair”.
